The privacy of your personal information is very important to us.
This Privacy Statement applies to any personal information you disclose to the VIKTOR system through your use of our site. By using the Site, you consent to our use of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
VIKTOR is an initiative of Volunteering WA.
Where used in this Privacy Statement, the terms "personal information" and "Australian Privacy Principle(s)" have the meaning attributed to those terms in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act"). Any reference to "VIKTOR", "we", "us" and "our" includes a reference to Volunteering WA. Volunteers, Organisations and other visitors are referred to as "visitors", "users" or "you".
This Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information, how you may access and correct it, and how you may make a complaint.
Where lawful and practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. However, full anonymity is generally not possible where you wish to register, express interest in a volunteer opportunity, or use the core functions of the VIKTOR site.

We need to collect some personal information to effectively coordinate volunteer opportunities between volunteers and Organisations.
We also require personal information to improve the services we provide and to support Organisations.
We provide information about the purposes of personal information collection wherever practicable, including through our Privacy Statement and system communications.

We collect your personal information when you register as an Organisation or when you supply information by expressing interest in a volunteer opportunity.
We also collect information when you correspond with us or use the Site to make enquiries.
If we receive unsolicited personal information, we will destroy or de-identify it unless it is reasonably necessary for our functions or activities.

If you express interest in a volunteer position, we collect your name and contact details. We may also collect other information depending on where the role is advertised.
Skills, qualifications and similar background information are considered personal information when they identify you or are reasonably capable of identifying you.
If you are an Organisation that registers on our Site, we will collect the personal information (name and contact details) of a contact for your Organisation, and organisational information to help connect you with potential volunteers.

VIKTOR collects non-personal, aggregated information about Site use patterns. If you wish, you may elect not to accept cookies on your browser.
We also collect IP addresses to assist with diagnosing problems or support issues.
Some cookie or analytics data may constitute personal information where it can identify an individual; in these circumstances, it will be handled in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

If you express interest in a volunteer role, we will pass on your information to the relevant Organisation(s).
If you register as an Organisation we will share your information with the Volunteering Australia (VA) Network, which includes the national body (VA), state and territory volunteering peak bodies and local Volunteer Resource Centres (VRC) that VA leads, as part of our partnership with them.
We may also disclose your personal information to service providers and contractors to assist with delivering our services or conducting research or where required by law.
We store all personal information on secure servers located in Australia. We do not disclose personal information overseas unless required to do so or unless you have expressly consented. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Statement and ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
Our Site may contain links to other websites with different privacy policies.

VIKTOR takes all reasonable steps to ensure the security of our systems and to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access.
Information is stored on secure servers in Australia and encrypted in transit and at rest.
We will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, after which it will be securely destroyed or de-identified.
Employees and contractors must respect confidentiality. We comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme.

If you are an Organisation, you may access and modify personal information via your profile page.
Users who have shared their information with an Organisation may request it directly from that Organisation.
You may request access to, or correction of, any personal information held by VIKTOR directly by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period and in accordance with the APPs.
Organisations can delete their account at any time by contacting VIKTOR.

From time to time, we may contact Organisations by email or phone about their use of the Site, features or volunteer-related content.
You may opt out of receiving these communications at any time by using the unsubscribe function or contacting us directly.

VIKTOR welcomes feedback, which may be stored and used to improve our services.
If you have any complaints about our handling of your personal information, you may contact us using the details below.
We will investigate and respond as soon as possible.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
